Optometrist & Contact lens Practitioner
Drew Thompson is a practising Optometrist in the North West of England with a special interest in corneal disease and its management with contact lenses. He is heavily involved with continuing professional development and currently holds a committee position on the Lancashire Optical Society which organises and implements educational events for qualified professionals.
Drew is involved in a large independent practice, GR Hardwick Optometrists, where he is takes part in several community schemes including low vision assessment and post-operative cataract care. For the past five years he has volunteered his services to the Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he has taken part in the corneal service.
Drew's primary interest in practice is the fitting and management of complex contact lenses for keratoconus. He is a member of the BCLA (British Contact Lens Association) and regularly attends and participates their annual international conference.
Drew has access to OCT scanning technology of both posterior and anterior segments, he also has access to corneal topography in practice.
